Background

JVAT led a program to develop Missile Eject Launcher concepts and associated technologies for the 6th Generation Military Aircraft Payload Bay for aircraft IOC in 2035. JVAT is now leading the program with a well-respected UK Defence Prime.

Approach

JVAT was engaged to deliver the programme working with a key UK Defence Prime due to their internal resources being pulled into other activities. JVAT's experience in Engineering & IPT leadership, in addition to having experience in Weapons Carriage and Release (WC&R), meant that we were able to rapidly mobilise the IPT and implement for the first time at the client Tier 1 Stand-Up Boards, Agile Delivery and best practice IPT behaviours and processes.

Outcome

There were several significant outcomes of this engagement due to JVAT's involvement in the programme. Patent applications were submitted for a new launcher and associated technologies with new UAV opportunities identified in the UK, roadmaps for future work were delivered and developed new capabilities in emerging technologies, such as electric actuation. The programme was delivered early and within budget. JVAT's expertise and knowledge also significantly improved engagement across the internal programme team as well as helped the positioning for the Defence Prime to win the next phase of work on the 6th Generation Military Aircraft.

It was through JVAT’s delivery of the programme that we were able to become a formal strategic supplier onto the 6th Generation Military Aircraft
